Morning People presents SYRUP, playing the impossibly majestic St Matthews in the City!

For the first time in its 117-year history, St Matthew’s is opening its doors for a full-noise morning dance party, on a SATURDAY!

Come bear witness to SYRUP playing one of Aotearoa’s most impressive neo-gothic venues. Vaulted timber ceilings 20 metres up, majestic stone arches, stained glass and sublime acoustics, this venue is *proper* amazing. This will be a party for the Morning People pool room.

SYRUP combines the musical stylings of beloved house music selectors TETO and SAMMIE, playing back-to-back in a high energy dance music set of religious proportions. Both DJs and producers in their own right, the pair have performed at parties and festivals all over the country, including Hidden Valley, Baseline and Rhythm and Vines.

Join SYRUP as they take the pulpit for a Saturday service like no other. As it’s a SATURDAY, we’re starting a touch later and partying for longer than usual - 7:00am - 9:00am.

Oh, and St Matthews is awesome. Known for championing social justice and upholding human rights, St Matthews is dedicated to serving the marginalised - it was a leader in the protests against apartheid, is committed to reducing extreme poverty, and since way back in the 1970s has been one of the few churches in vocal support of LGBQTI+ communities. Ka rawe!

In usual Morning People fashion, dance-floor heat will be served alongside complimentary Altezano Brothers coffee, All Good bananas and ice-cold Club-Mate.

This is one not to miss!

Alcohol-free, dress to sweat.
