Directed by Rick Harvie in 2020, and selected for the 2021 Doc Edge Film Festival, SAM is the story of Jolt dancer Sam Stevens, of his parents Tom and Carol, and of Jolt's whānau. SAM is uplifting and life-affirming. It is honest, funny and moving and asks all of us what it means to be a valued and valuable human.

SAM will be presented alongside three live dance works:

Takiwātanga, an autobiographical work that explores Carl Huia's view of the world - a view shaped by his Māori heritage, his own personal experiences and individual spirit, and his lived experience of Autism.

Vox, a new work choreographed by Aleasha Seaward, in collaboration with dancers Melissa Fox and Julie Mckerrow, that explores the power of the voice, asks what it happens when that power is quietened or muted, and conversely, how that voice can be strengthened though the sistership of two wāhine dancers.

Summer, from Max Richter's re-composition of Vivaldi's famous Four Seasons, the complete work of which Jolt will present across 8 New Zealand centers in March/April 2022, alongside the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, and including appearances in Te Ahurei Toi O Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival and Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts. The Seasons national tour is presented by Chamber Music New Zealand.
