Join the St. Peter’s Orchestra for their second concert - Celebration of the Life & Service of Queen Elizabeth II

This was originally planned to be a jubilee celebration for the late HRH Queen Elizabeth II. Due to recent events however we have decided that it would be fitting to change the concert and make it a celebration of her life. We will be doing this by playing the four coronation anthems by George Frederic Handel. To do this we will be joined by some of Wellingtons own Baroque Voices led by Pepe Becker

Repertoire:
Arrival Queen of Sheba - from Solomon

Let Thy Hand be Strengthened
Zadok the Preist
The King Shall Rejoice
My Heart is inditing

Water Music Suites 1 and 2

God Save the King

St. Peter’s Orchestra is a professional ensemble performing regularly at St. Peter’s on Willis. The orchestra has focused on the performance of an extensive range of sacred music which has been composed over the centuries.

St. Peter’s on Willis is hosting the orchestra as part of the musical development of the Parish. Music is to be put at the forefront of the church’s agenda over the coming years. We are seeking to widen the range of music offered as a part of workshop services and to encourage opportunities for playing music in the church space for the musical community.

In addition, the orchestra will serve as a hub of inspiration in the community and for younger artists accepted into their ranks.
