Spanning freedom classics by Bob Marley, Sam Cooke, Bob Dylan and more, Unity Bridge reinvents great freedom and unity songs, giving them a jazz twist and plenty of heart.
Playing three gigs in the top of the south, all have played and swayed together in the Wellington Jazz and improvising scene, sharing strong empathic communication. Mainly instrumental with a smattering of vocals, put your worries away, join us for a rare uplifting journey.

Unity Bridge is a four piece sonic beam of joy consisting:

Bridget Key: Sax and Clarinets Bridget studied at NZSM and performs in a variety of Jazz, Gypsy and Balkan bands in Wellington. She also enjoys playing Mbira and African drumming and sings in a Madagascan acapella ensemble. When not jamming she runs yoga classes on Oriental Beach among other places.

Amanda Millyclown is the wildcard musician. Flying in from Gisborne, Amanda is a multi-instrumentalist, Beekeeper, multitasking mum with a background in circus, improv theatre, music acting and filmmaking. She likes to keep things interesting, so it's hard to know what to expect!

Nick van Dijk: Keyboards, trombone and Flugelhorn. Longtime jazz educator Nick has played festivals with international artists as well as recording with The Black Seeds, Rhombus and Niko Ne Zna, He swims in nature all year round and enjoys learning new instruments for a challenge.

Patrick Bleakley: Upright Bass Stalwart of the Wellington Scene, Pat has played with The Crocodiles, Bill Lake, The Troubles, BLERTA and Jonathan Crayford. Teacher and creative guru, Pat makes a focused exploration of splitting the atom every single note, lighting the fuse to the music he is in.

Special guest vocalist Katie Michael's lead voice tells the story setting the music free.
