First published 50 years ago, Tangi was Witi Ihimaera’s (Te Whānau a Kai) debut novel and the first to be published by a Māori author. An unstoppable literary force, with novels, short stories, films, plays and many collections to his name, Witi has just co-edited, with Michelle Elvy, A Kind of Shelter: An Anthology of New Writing for a Changed World and, with Vaughan Rapatahana, the forthcoming anthology of Māori writing, Ngā Kupu Wero. Join Witi, rangatira of Aotearoa stories, for a Sunday kōrero.
This session can also be watched at home via livestream, or until 11.59pm, Sunday 17 September.
