ArtBeat Festival

ArtBeat is Whangarei’s biggest free Interactive Arts Festival open to the whole community in Northland.

Creative Northland's community event, ArtBeat, promises some old favourites as well as some new twists this year!
For those not in the know, ArtBeat is a free, fun, interactive event with eight different zones to entertain every member of the family, from the curious toddler, musical teen, shopaholic parents, and all art lovers.

Set in the beautiful Cafler Park, accessed from the back of the Whangarei Library or through the Rose Gardens off Water St, all the family can enjoy what each zone has to offer.

Here's a quick run-down of the different zones:

Zone 1 - Eats Street: Local eateries that will satisfy all your cravings with crowd-favourite food and beverages.
Zone 2 - Entertainment Hub: Watch talented local Northland performers on the main stage, hosted by More FM's MC Toast.
Zone 3 - Community Zone: Local organisations share the great work they are doing within the community and some fun activities to participate in.
Zone 4 - Interactive Zone: The hub of all things creative! Let your kids try out a range of free hands-on art activities which will keep them entertained for hours.
Zone 5 - Neverland Zone: Get transformed with just a touch of face paint while also being treated to storytelling.
Zone 6 - Arts & Crafts Market: If you love art, don't miss this zone or forget your cash!
Zone 7 - Youth Music & Sistema: For all your musical needs in the Whangarei youth space, have a go "instrument petting zoo" welcomes players of all ages.
Zone 8 - ArtBeat Art Space Exhibition: A selection of artworks for sale from a range of our Northland artists.

ArtBeat is also zero waste! Over the last few years, event organisers have strived toward reducing waste as much as possible, our 2023 event will have strict guidelines in place to reduce the impact on our environment as much as we can. ArtBeat is also SmokeFree, meaning any and all smoking is prohibited within the event grounds.
