Jaqualyn Taimana Williams (aka Jaqi Taimana) invites you to celebrate the release of her colourful and edgy indie rock EP Guns Of Dialogue at Nivara Lounge on Thursday 25th May 7pm.
This is an exciting and unique all-ages show featuring two sets of stand-up comedy (family and R18), a selection of original songs performed solo and two sets from her brand new Hamilton-based blues/rockabilly covers and originals band, Jaqi Taimana and The Sharp Ends. Jaqi Taimana (guitar, vocals, percussion), Herb Mason (keys), Kevin Shoston (guitar), James Shirley (bass), Chrissy Thomasen (drums).
The solo set repertoire is a mix of best picks from her two te reo-English children’s albums, sixteen song rock fusion album Statues Of Liberty and the new five-track EP Guns Of Dialogue. The backing tracks are the original recordings minus the vocals made in the studio by actual paid musicians - guitars by Tim Skedden (Babysitter's Circus, The Feelers, Op Shop) drums by Corey Friedlander (City Of Souls, 8 Ft Sativa), bass by Clint Harris (The Feelers), bass by Marika Hodgson (Kora, Troy Kingi), keys by Stephen Small (The Verlaines).
