In this two day workshop, we will cover how to mix cold wax effectively on your palette with charcoal, dry pigment, graphite and oil paint, and test and practice these to achieve many effects and finishes.
With drawing materials, we will look at how they are enhanced and altered when used with cold wax medium and what tools work for what effects. We will experiment with exercises in additive and subtractive techniques, creating layers and textures with many different materials from bubble wrap to corrugated card. Our focus on working small will help you progress and feel confident to experiment and play with cold wax medium in a supportive environment and above all have fun.
This is a different cold wax medium from Encaustic and in this two-day workshop we will examine what it is, how to start and how to use it.
One hour lunch break - bring a packed lunch or explore the cafes in Te Aro.
All tools and materials provided.
This course is appropriate for all levels - beginners, intermediate and advanced
