See things differently through close-up/macro photography. Grant Beedie will share his own methods and techniques through this macro photography workshop in Christchurch. You'll become more confident in your ability to produce quality macro/flower images.
Beginners are welcome. You’ll spend 2 hours at the Christchurch Botanic Gardens learning new macro photography skills!
Grant's approach is down-to-earth with simple to follow advice. He will help you be able to consistently produce good work.

Participants will be contacted by email before 10pm Friday 21 July to advise of any changes or postponement due to weather.
Meeting point: Christchurch Botanic Gardens (meet on the bridge by Hagley Tennis Club off Riccarton Ave).
Equipment required:
- A DSLR or mirrorless camera is preferred
- Battery and memory card
- A macro lens
- A 18-55mm lens or a 50mm lens can also be used to good effect
- A hat can be handy and wear warm clothes in case of cold weather

About the Exhibition:
The 'Art of Photography' exhibition celebrates the medium of photography with an exhibition of over 60 printed works by both professional and amateur photographers from across the Selwyn District. Winning images from a public photography competition, open to all Selwyn residents, will also be printed and on display. Art lovers and photography enthusiasts are invited to come and view the exhibition and enjoy the diverse range of work from our talented local photographic community. You might also like to attend a variety of public talks and workshops hosted by Canterbury-based photographers. The exhibition runs from 13-25 July 2023 at Te Ara Atea, Rolleston Library.
