Plus1 Presents

Acclaimed jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux will perform three New Zealand concerts in March 2023 on her world tour in celebration of the deluxe reissue of her best-selling album, Careless Love.

Plus1 proudly presents Madeleine Peyroux live at the Opera House, Wellington (Thursday 16 March); James Hay Theatre, Christchurch (Friday 17 March) and the spectacular Holy Trinity Cathedral. Parnell, Auckland (Saturday 18 March).

“It’s rare to find someone capable of injecting such life into every single lyric and each emotion and sentiment was conveyed with such personality and conviction through her musical choices, inflection and perhaps simply natural ability to really tell a story through song.” – London Jazz News

Careless Love was a commercial and critical success for the US songstress in 2004. In the US, the album sold more than half a million copies in its first year—hitting No.2 on Billboard’s Jazz chart and, eventually, earning a platinum certification both in the USA. Rivalling the sales of a pop record, the album was also a bestseller abroad.

18 years later, Peyroux continues to record, perform, and challenge the confines of jazz through such albums as Half the Perfect World (2006), Standing on the Rooftop (2011), and The Blue Room (2013), while her most recent album – the acclaimed Anthem was released in 2018.
