The official opening of our annual Open Studios is an eagerly awaited evening on the peninsula arts calendar for visitors to meet the artists, view the Showcase Exhibition and have first opportunity to purchase art work.
Guest speaker for the Gala Opening is treasured New Zealand gardening writer, author and broadcaster - Lynda Hallinan whose favourite gardens integrate art and nature. Growing up on a farm in the Waikato, the highlight of her childhood summers were the 10 days her family spent every year in a tent pitched at the Hot Water Beach Motor Camp. In 2013, she bought a rundown retro bach in Tairua's main street and now her kids get to enjoy the same Coromandel vibe.
