Artspace Gallery is proud to welcome Christchurch artist and gallery owner for her 2nd solo exhibition at our Petone seaside gallery.
Min is one of New Zealand’s finest artists and a master painter in both watercolours and oils. Viewers of her paintings are bound to fall in love with her ability to capture beauty with her magical brush strokes and rich use of colour and tone.
Min grew up in South Korea and as a young girl she was surrounded by the paintings of her father, Kevin Kim, a professional artist which inspired her to paint too. She loved nothing more than to draw and paint and started painting watercolours with her father aged 5. Min went on study the history and technique of classical drawing and watercolour at the Fine Art University in South Korea and later spent two years in Florence, Italy, studying 19th Century Classical masters and Impressionism.
In 1999, MIN immigrated to New Zealand and settled in Christchurch where she became a full-time artist and had a successful art gallery. Min has received several prestigious International awards for her paintings and exhibits in New Zealand and internationaly.
