MTG Lord of the Rings Movie Marathon Costume Competition

Register now to enter the MTG Lord of the Rings Movie Marathon costume competition, an exciting event that will feature all three epic Lord of the Rings movies on Sunday 17 September.

Spend the day indulging in one, two or all three of the Lord of the Rings trilogy on the big screen, dressed in theme as your favourite character. Think Gandalf, Frodo or Bilbo Baggins, an elf or Shelob the demon spider!

Costumes do not have to be homemade – they can be bought, rented, or put together using clothes from home – you just need to be able to have fun! Win prizes for your costume on the day, spot prizes and Orc yourself out on food and drink available to purchase between movies.

A costume showcase event will take place before the first film, from 9:30am, and the competition entry fee includes entry to all three movies ($30 - available to purchase online via the MTG Store)

The Movie Marathon can be attended without taking part in the costume competition. Tickets can be purchased separately for each film via the MTG Store https://store.mtghawkesbay.com/Events/Index - or on the door.

EVENT RULES: (MUST READ)
Costumes can be anything Lord of the Rings related.
Costumes must be appropriate for a family friendly environment.
NO WEAPONS CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE EVENT – NO EXCEPTIONS!
Costumes do not have to be homemade – they can be bought, rented, or put together using clothes from home.
An entry fee of $30 is required. This will include tickets to all three (3) films.
This is a photo-based competition and entries must contain one (1) front and one (1) back photo of you in costume for judging. Images will be used to showcase your amazing costumes on the theatre screen between films - so high quality is best.
Your costume/s do not need to be completed to submit your registration form - as long as it can be worn by Sunday 17th, submissions can still be entered.
A Costume Showcase event will take place before the first film, from 9:30am.
Registration for this competition MUST be submitted by September 15th 2023.
No Oversized costumes, Cave Trolls or full-sized Balrogs.
Precious gold rings lost under the theatre seats will not be returned.
Entry to the Lord of the Rings movies is strictly PG and R13.
MTG Hawke's Bay reserves the right to refuse anyone that does not meet our standard of entry. ‘You shall not pass!’ 
By submitting your entry you agree to photographs taken at the costume event to be used for online publicity purposes.
