The event features India's topmost Sitar maestro Purbayan Chatterjee in Auckland with New Zealand's most popular tabla player Manjit Singh. The duo has performed in the past for music events with a house full of audiences. The event is going to be a super most experience of ancient Indian musical arts and its contemporaries.

Purbayan Chatterjee is one of the topmost sitar maestros of the world and belongs to the Senia Maihar Gharana (sitar institution) founded by Baba Allauddin Khan. He is a recipient of Indian presidential awards, the Aditya Vikram Birla Award, the Rotary international award, and many other prestigious awards.

Purbayan regularly collaborates with the like of Shankar Mahadevan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, and the jazz legend Pat Metheny. Today he is internationally renowned and one of the most sought-after musicians in the country and a global ambassador for Indian classical music.

Purbayan bridges musical worlds on his New Star-Studded album “Unbounded – Abaad”. Songs are full of spirit, with musicians from India, The USA, and the UK, merging local flavors of Latin, Jazz, folk, country, Sufi Tradition, western and Hindustani Classical Music.
