Saturday Laughs is a two hour comedy showcase of some top Kiwi talent, right in the heart of Wellington.
Each month's line up will feature a guest MC, plus 6 acts from around the capital and the country, doing their best to bring the big laughs!
This month's show features headline act Kura Turuwhenua.
Kura Turuwhenua is a 22-year-old crack up with a passion for dark and silly humour. In just over a year on the stand up comedy scene, Kura has won the NZ Raw Comedy Quest and been awarded Best Comedy Newcomer as well as being nominated for an award for comic originality.
Kura is also a credited writer for New Zealand’s legendary panel show 7 Days and has co-written a sitcom which is currently in development. She has produced and directed her own comedic short films and gone viral multiple times on TikTok and Instagram.
With guest MC Hoani Hotene
Hoani busted on to the comedy scene in 2020 going around the Wellington scene before taking his talents all over the country over the past year.
With high energy and an alternative style Hoani was able to win the Best Newcomer award at the 2021 Wellington comedy awards before going on to win the 2022 Wellington Raw Quest final.
In October 2022 Hoani WON the Raw Comedy National Grand Final and was crowned Funniest New Comedian of the Year
