The first show of 2023 is on 19 February featuring Bill Hickman, Clara can Wel and Alexander Guy.
Bill Hickman - Bill Hickman is an intense, lyrical singer/songwriter and a long serving stalwart of New Zealand stages, Bill has played in bands (The Shot Band, Billy Bones, Parcel of Rogues and King Lazy) and as a soloist. A self-described ‘folkie with a chip on his shoulder’ Bill’s songs run the gamut from murder and outlaws to absent friends, love and gratitude. His first full length solo album. 'Crossbones' was released in May 2019.
Clara van Wel - Clara van Wel is a writer and performer based in Pōneke. Their unique brand of theatrical folk explores themes of identity, agency, and love. They have been featured on national radio and have played across Aotearoa and the UK. You can also find them grooving with their alt-pop band Rocket Berry.
Alexander Guy - Alex Guy plays folk music inspired by the late great poet players of Europe and America, with a classic finger-picked style and story-like lyrics sometimes skirting round the psychedelic.
