Sound Bites

Sound Bites, free outdoor entertainment Friday at Andrews Avenue and The Dowse Square, Lower Hutt that runs from 3 February to 31 March.

The performances feature local musicians, mostly solo artists that will perform from the HCC events container located in the public space at Andrews Avenue. Music genres include Each week a musician will perform during the hours of 12-2pm at Andrews Avenue green space and 4:30-6:30 at the Dowse Square. Central city workers are encouraged to bring their lunch and come along to enjoy the summer sounds of Sound Bites @ Lunchtime. Sponsored by Southend Business Group and managed by Aaron Andis.
Returning this summer to Andrews Avenue and The Dowse Square starting on 3 February, every Friday for the next eight weeks. Sound Bites summer music series features local musicians like Brendon Mercer, Jodie Gummer and Tin Palace returning are our favourites Aaron Andis, Ainslie Allen, Andrew London and Play it again Sam, the piano man.
The music starts at noon on Andrews Avenue, in the heart of the central city, so, grab lunch from your fave café or bring your lunch along and enjoy some great local music. Many on the local cafes will be offering a Sound Bites menu items that are quick and easy to grab and go. There will be plenty of seating from picnic blankets to park benches. Bring your co-workers along for some summer tunes, fresh air and sunshine starting at noon. Performers will play from 12-2:00pm.
Sound Bites repeats on the Dowse Square from 4:30pm it is a great way to end the work week over summer, every Friday after work on The Dowse Square. You can enjoy Sound Bites from the decks of The Crooked Elm and Bellbird Eatery, both offering great food and drinks*. You can choose to relax on comfy seating on the Dowse Square and bring your own snacks or meals and enjoy Sound Bites, the sounds of summer.
*Dowse Square is an alcohol-free zone.
