'Te Hononga – The Connection’ - Student Exhbition

The Incubator Creative Hub would like to invite you to view a collection of work from Pāpāmoa College's Visual Arts Students.

The students of Pāpāmoa College have been given the opportunity to create an artwork and display it in a professional art exhibition at the Bay of Plenty's own regional community gallery, ‘The People’s Gallery - Toi kā Rere’. This is an inaugural event for Pāpāmoa College’s visual arts students, and the wide-open criteria will guarantee an exciting exhibition.

With an emphasis on the Kaupapa theme ‘Te Hononga - the Connection’, means that students will be able to explore their unique individual stories visually. ‘Te Hononga - the Connection’ provides mana and meaning for students to tell their story, express their culture, their interests and visually display their connection to things that are exciting and meaningful to them.

Using a diverse range of media, the students have been asked to explore any media and format. Drawing, painting, mixed media painting and 2D relief painting, sculpture - 2D relief, 3D, free-standing; digital art; photography; photo-mixed media and collage.

The artwork criteria have been opened up to any art genre eg: abstract, construction, portraiture, still life, comic, character design, landscape etc. Students may paint on any surface, wood, canvas (framed and loose), plastic, object and of course high-quality paper.

Opening preview Friday 12th May 5:30-7:30pm. Everyone welcome.
On display in The People’s Gallery - Toi kā Rere’ from 13th May to the 10th June.
Open 10am - 3pm Monday to Saturday.
