A welcoming night that blurs the line between audience and performer… because the audience are the performers! All skill levels welcome - whether you just want to watch, you’ve taken classes, you have performed with friends or maybe you headlined an improv festival, you are welcome. Practice stage improvisation and power up your joy, connection and passion in front of a supportive crowd.
Hosted by international improviser Steven Lyons (Second City Theatricals, ComedySportz Chicago, Laugh Out Loud). With over 20 years of experience in improv, Steven is passionate about creating collaborative and joy-filled experiences.
That Midwinter Improv Jam brings improvisers, improv lovers, and the improv-curious together for an evening of laughter and spontaneous creativity. Enjoy a variety of short improvised games and scenes based on your suggestions and shared joy.
JUST WANT TO WATCH? You're amazing! Come and witness the magic unfold before your eyes. Laugh and applaud as talented improvisers make it up on the spot. No pressure to take the stage—let's have fun and celebrate the things that make us happy!
WANT TO PERFORM? Well, hello there! Collaborate with and meet other improvisers from around Auckland. Dive into fun short games or explore longer emotional scenes. If you have a game you've always wanted to play, let Steven know and let the creativity flow
From the producers of Social Improv Night, POINTS!, and The Dice Show, That Midwinter Improv Jam promises a night of improvisational delights and jump-around fun!

Time: 7:00pm - 8:15pm (doors open at 6:30pm)
Venue: Pitt St Theatre (78 Pitt Street, Auckland CBD)
Tickets: Pay-what-you-choose (email info@papergoat.nz to book your seat) or koha on the door. All profits go to social enterprise Paper Goat, supporting more live events in the community.
NOTE
- There is no bar at the venue, but lots in the area if you need pre-show libations.
- Nearest parking is probable Wilson Parking on Cross St
