Catch a ferry from Russell to Paihia, then we walk along the Paihia Waterfront to Waitangi Bridge.
Kayaking up the Waitangi River you can explore up close, paddle through mangrove forests or photograph a colony of sea birds that nest in trees hanging over the river, Then onto our final destination where a waterfall drops into the sea. At the waterfall the fun & adrenaline starts, even first timers can safely experience paddling at the basin of a waterfall - the perfect photo opportunity! We have our charter boat is on hand if you need a rest.

Your guides will share with you fauna, flora, local history and Māori legends while being your personal photographers.
After our kayak we walk back along the Haruru Falls track, a sheltered track full of bird-watching, local history and stunning views and along the waterfront to Zane Greys Restaurant and Bar, which is situated out over the water. 2. The Russell Bowling Club is our Walking Weekend HQ, all walks start from there.

Our guides are all passionate and knowledgeable about the Bay of Islands area and bring something special to the walking experience. Each walk has no more than 20 people. Our HQ is the Russell Bowling Club where people can meet, chat about their day and have something to eat and drink.

Russell is a fantastic base for the weekend with lots of great restaurants, places to stay and for the non-walkers out there. We are very excited about this weekend and the great walking experiences there are here in the Bay of Islands. Time to get your walking boots out of the cupboard and join us in the Bay of Islands.

Visit our website to see all the walks you can do.
