Weed Swap - Swap Your Weed for A Free Native Plant

Take Action for Nature - You can make a difference and help fight the "War on Weeds". The weediest places are often those closest to towns as over 70% of invasive weeds were originally garden plants. Get involved to prevent new weed species damaging our ecosystems and species - that includes endangering our rare and threatened birds.

The Hawke’s Bay Regional Council and the Department of Conservation, supported by Weedbusters, invite you to bring an environmental weed to the Napier Soundshell on Saturday 19 August and swap it for a free native plant. We have 200 native plants to give away.

Talk to Darin Underhill, Biosecurity Advisor, Hawke's Bay Regional Council and Alan Lee, Biodiversity Ranger, Department of Conservation who can help identify invasive, unusual or unwanted pests weeds on your property. Visit hbrc.govt.nz for more information on pest weeds in Hawke’s Bay.
