We are all connected in the same sonic sphere, with our ears attuned to the centre, eagerly anticipating the highest point of our sonic journey. We represent the opposite direction from the apex, the antapex, the point from which everyone seems to be moving away.
Antapex is a full immersion light- and sound-scape running over six sessions during Off Centre 2024 with a continuous drone playing throughout, connecting all performances. A combination of local electronic music producers, live instrumentalists and vocalists will perform over this drone in their own unique style, using the quiet and considered space to play sounds that audiences in a club or bar setting may otherwise ignore.
This event is being organised by a collective of musical and visual artists; Joshua Holmes (Junus Orca), Benjamin Hunt (Jaga), Will Duncan (Social Sport), Cameron Hoy (Keanu Raves), Martin Tatchell (Pentaloe), with support from Sarah Aspinwall.
Expect an immersive visual and audio experience, incorporating audio-reactive digital art, interplaying with the aural performance.
Venue: Maker Workshop
