Head on down to the EcoFest Whaanau Fun Day, where at 11am we will be kicking off this one-of-a-kind workshop, back by popular demand!

Come join a informative talk followed by a practical session on how to sustainably grow your own edible mushrooms. You will be introduced to the basics of mushroom cultivation and then get to setup your own large Phoenix Oyster grow kit for you to take home.

If you have ever wanted to grow your own mushrooms or wondered about the amazing role they play in our ecosystem, don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn from an expert Mycologist and get hands-on with the growing process.

Notes:
- Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit mucky!
- Suitable for 13plus years old
- Bring yourself and note taking material if desired!

One kit per household, limited to 40 kits in total. Kit availability will be first come, first served. If there are more attendees than kits available, extra participants are still welcome to listen to the fascinating mycology talk, observe the kit making process and join in the Q&A at the end of the workshop.

This event is part of EcoFest, an annual month-long festival taking place Friday 15 March – Sunday 14 April 2024. Inspiring climate action across Tāmaki Makaurau, it is hosted in collaboration by EcoMatters, Kaipātiki Project, Beautification Trust and Waiheke Resources Trust, and proudly supported by Auckland Council.
