Inagural Neverlands festival to take place in palmerston north in february 2024
Neverlands, a new multi-genre music and performing arts festival takes flight in it’s first ever edition on February 23rdd 2024 at the Globe Theatre in Palmerston North, encompassing rock, dance, soul, alt. rock, and metal music alongside a selection of short films. The lineup is headed by Brodie street, Sidewinder, and Dead Empire, a trio of live acts at the top of their game who have never shared the stage previously. Fresh from showcasing at IMXChina (one of Asia’s largest Music Expos) and the release of 3rd studio album Shadow Theory earlier this year, Brodie Street, a songwriter and producer from Te Aroha, New Zealand; will be making his first festival appearance since 2018 with music from his forthcoming studio album Midnight Ghosts (out early 2024). He will also be showcasing his work across all four of his studio albums in a new multi-media live show that will be making its debut at Neverlands. Wellington rock heavyweights, Sidewinder are tagging along for the ride after the release of their first studio album ‘Vines’ with a new lead singer and a soon to be released new album: all of which adds up to a wall of sound bigger, bluesier and tastier than before. With new music coming in 2024, Neverlands will be one of the first places to hear music from their forthcoming album. Based out of Mt. Manganui, Dead Empire is known for their high-octane live shows that are unrestricted by genre. Recently signed to Curtain Call Records in Florida, this is the chance to catch them before they head off on a USA Festival tour later in the year. Also joining the lineup are Betsy and the Reckless. With elements of modern soul with a nod to the past, they will be showcasing tracks from their new album (out November 17) along with fan favorites in a memorable, no holds barred live show. Rounding out the lineup is ZOO2, a U2 Tribute Act from Auckland, New Zealand, as takes you on the explorative musical journey of arguably the world’s biggest rock band of all-time.
