Sew A Drawstring Backpack is a children’s sewing workshop. Once they’ve made their backpack, there will be no need to carry a bag, they can just wear it and be hands free! These bags are a current craze, they’re not too big, super comfortable and carry all the essentials or extras. The Drawstring Backpack is ideal for carrying dance gear, gym gear, swimming gear or just the right size to carry snacks and a drink. In this Sew a drawstring backpack workshop kids will get started exploring the first steps to sewing and they will finish the session with a usable machined drawstring backpack.
Gracie Mathews is the best tutor to teach your child, she oozes enthusiasm for everything textile. In addition to teaching and travelling New Zealand for a fabric supplier she has her own business offering a variety of costume and sewing services including hire, manufacture, costume and sewing experience packages and continues to share her personal costume and textile collection through symposiums, events and exhibitions.
Who is this workshop designed for?
This sewing workshop is for all children who want to give sewing a go!
Children must be aged 8+ years old. Please do not register children under the age of 8 in this class.
What to bring?
All art related materials are included in the fee.
Children can bring a water bottle and snacks.
