The Gauntlet - Day One "Rough"

Welcome to the Gauntlet.

Local comics are testing their endurance and putting their skills to the ultimate test in a 10-day comedy marathon.

10 comedians. 10 shows. 10 days in a row. 10 different venues. 10 minutes(ish) each.

Featuring special challenges and one-of-a-kind pop-up guerilla-style surprise shows. Every show is different!

Who Will Survive to the End?

Day 1: Wed 17 April 7:30pm - Circus Bar: “First Draft”

Watch us all struggle with the first draft of a brand new set.

Day 2: Thu 18 April 7:30pm - Ivy Bar: “Naked” (but not literally)

We’re getting vulnerable, doing something brave, or revealing our soft parts. More nudity of the soul, but maybe of the body. We’re all facing our fears.

Day 3. Fri 19th April 5:00 - location TBA “Happy Hour!”

Get happy, and maybe a little tipsy. We’re doing our best and funniest feel-good material or blowing off steam for the week. Topical or tropical, but definitely atypical.

Day 4. Sat 20th April 2:00pm - Mt Vic or Waterfront “public display of affliction”

We’re getting outdoors and into the public eye. Clean material so we don’t get arrested, but risky and loud.

Day 5. Sun 21st April 2:00pm - Private location/invite only–streamed on Zoom, “10 for 10-Lockdown”

An invite-only show for 10 (maybe unwilling) family members in someone’s living room or garden. Will be live-streamed for those who can’t fit.

Day 6. Mon 22nd April 7:30pm - location TBA Dirty Laundry

We take over a local laundromat to clean up our material and our knickers

Day 7. Tue 23rd April 7:30pm - Powwow Room “Problematic”

Are we the problem? We’re trying not to be. Help us get better.

Day 8. Weds 24th April - TBA

We’re heading to a nursing home or some equally difficult place to perform…

Day 9. Thu 25th April 7:30pm - Fringe Bar (The BIG show! Challenge Night!)

We’re going to put on the big show for you, but with a twist. Everyone draws a challenge card (No material, crowdwork, steal an act, etc.)

Day 10. Fri 26th 7:30pm - Cavern Club (under the influence - choose your poison)

Our final party! Shots, drinks, other substances. Even sober people will have to eat a hot pepper or something…
