Join an ex doc hut warden coordinator jimmy johnson on a day's tramp to the new waihohonu hut, the site of the old lockwood hut, the historic hut, other sites of interest and the ohinepango springs.
This is the kind of tramp you don't want to miss - even if you've been to this fantastic area before, Jimmy will relay information and a few 'tall tails' only years of hut-wardening going back to 1990, with unique experiences can bring!

With over 29 years working for DOC under his belt (newly retired) Jimmy has unique knowledge of this special area. Jimmy was involved in the planning and implementation for the 'new Waihohonu Hut'.
