Call into Coronation Hall for Wild Fun at Portobello offering a line up of nature inspired events including a marine touch tank.

Go on a guided nature walk to a private native reserve not far from the hall in the heart of Portobello.

Get up-close to the marine critters that live on the rocky shore with NZ Marine Studies Centre’s aquavan touch tank.
Meet The Opera team (previously Penguin Place) who will offer fun activities for kids.

Have a cuppa with The Swat team in the hall kitchen and a ‘show and tell’ of the good and bad vines that grow wild in gardens and properties on the Otago Peninsula.

With pakake/NZ sea lions now a common site on our beaches the day will feature sea lion activities - we suggest children bring a cushion to get close to the action.

Children storyteller and entertainer Kaitrin McMullan will perform two pakake puppet shows, plus guide children to make their own puppet show.

Then view a short doco “Return of the New Zealand Sea Lion” by JJ Emerson that has plenty of sea lion action. Ask a sea lion expert any questions you may have about sea lions on local beaches.

The nature-inspired workshops and walks have limited spaces so when you arrive check in at the Wild Dunedin desk and book a place - first in, first booked.

All events are free but bring some cash as Shukuru will be offering real fruit ice-creams and coffee from her food truck.

Cost: Free - Book on the day
