Great North has won the 2015 Tui award for Best Folk Album for their 2014 release, Up in Smoke.
This is the second time the five-piece band has received the acolade, having also won in 2013 for their previous album Halves.
The winner was announced over the weekend at the Auckland Folk Festival in Kumeu. The other nominees were Flip Grater for Pigalle and Rachel Dawick for her album The Boundary Riders.
