Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-breaking musical Cats is coming to New Zealand this spring.
This version of the production is staged by the same team behind the 2015 revival on London's West End - including the original creative team of Director Trevor Nunn, Choreographer & Associate Director Gillian Lynne, Set Designer John Napier and Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The 2015 revival also features a rapping 'street cat' in the Rum Tum Tugger role.
Based on T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, Cats is set on the night of the Jellicle Ball, when the cats come out for their caterwaul and to tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy.
Cats is one of the longest-running shows in West End and Broadway history. It premiered in London in 1981 and ran for 21 years.
Tickets go on sale 5pm on Friday, 29 May.
