Californian punk-rock legends Pennywise are bouncing back to New Zealand, bringing their latest '20th Anniversary Tour' to Auckland's The Studio next year February. Performing as their special guests are acclaimed Kiwi punk outfit, Flirting With Disaster.
To mark their incredible 20-year career, Pennywise will be playing songs from their groundbreaking 1999 album 'Straight Ahead'. Since its release, critics have regarded it as the band's strongest work—with Sputnikmusic describing it as a record "full of fast, heavy, rockin' punk rock… one of the symbolic punk albums of the '90s and a definite classic from one of California's finest exports."
Pennywise have made a name for themselves since breaking onto the music scene in 1988. Upon debuting, they have gone on to amassing a global cult-following through their relentless touring and blistering hardcore live performances. They have solidified their place in punk history with songs like the raging 'Fuck Authority', 'Alien', and 'Bro Hymn'—a legendary ode to brotherhood and departed friends.
