Pop-up Globe Theatre, Season 2

Pop-up Globe® is the world’s first full scale temporary working replica of the second Globe theatre, Shakespeare’s theatre.

After the extraordinary 2016 debut season which sold over 100,000 tickets and was extended twice due to popular demand, Pop-up Globe is returning to Auckland this summer with a stunning new theatre design, four new productions of Shakespeare’s masterworks, and a beautiful new garden setting at Auckland’s Ellerslie Racecourse.

Fusing cutting-edge scaffold technology with 400-year old design Pop-up Globe recreates as accurately as possible the actual performance conditions of the second Globe: live music and dance, ferocious fight sequences, direct address, and every show ends with a rousing jig.  The house lights remain on during the evening performances, meaning the actors and audience share the same space and experience – the audience is always a vital part of the show. Pop-up Globe gives a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience Shakespeare just as it would’ve been seen at the second Globe 400 years ago.

Terms & Conditions: Tickets are sold by Eventfinda Ltd as agent for and on behalf of Pop-up Globe Auckland Limited.   Tickets cannot be refunded, exchanged or cancelled once issued.

The Pop-up Globe theatre is a fully enclosed space and the shows will play rain or shine.  If a show is postponed, purchased tickets for the original date will be valid for the new date unless otherwise advised. Purchasers have the option to seek a refund for the value of the purchased ticket(s) for a postponed show by contacting Eventfinda prior to the replacement date for the postponed show.  In the unlikely event of a cancellation, the full amount of the transaction will be refunded directly to the credit card used for the original purchase.
