St Patrick's Festival 2017

The Irish folks around the world are now counting down to St Patrick’s Day on 17 March and Auckland’s cultural enthusiasts are starting the celebrations early!

Auckland is preparing for a week-long festivity of the Patron Saint of Ireland, St Patrick. Kicking off on 5 March is an Irish Fair Day hosted at the Auckland Irish Club featuring arts and crafts and a buzzing atmosphere. Whilst top teams from around the country will come together to play for the national titles in the most-awaited GAA Championship. Also, witness the buoyant culmination of the festival in St Patrick's Parade and Hugh Green Irish Music & Dance Festival. 

Let's not forget the upcoming Emerald Ball where everyone's invited to don their finest and enjoy an Irish-themed evening. With even more entertainment, food vendors and kids activities, the 2017 Festival promises to be bigger and better - and revellers of all backgrounds encouraged to join the fun!

St Patrick’s Parade will paint Ponsonby Road green as a vibrant collection of musicians, dancers, bands, floats and leprechauns gambol towards Western Park. From 11am to 5pm the lush park will play host to the bustling Hugh Green Group Irish Music & Dance Festival showcasing all things Irish with traditional music, dance and costumes, plus tasty fare on site.
