River Valley Lodge

River Valley Lodge does not easily fit into the standard accommodation box, and nor do our guests.

Most will be there because they also wish to experience the land and river of this most beautiful part of New Zealand.

But let's be honest, some are there by mistake! When someone hops out of their vehicle with high heels on, or comes into reception and says - "Is there a dairy we can walk to?", we think "hm". Maybe the large print has not been read, let alone the small print.

This is what the Lodge can promise you: comfy beds for your style of accommodation, great food, a warm welcome and things to do that will extend and delight you.

This is what we are not: an upmarket Lodge Retreat, some sort of Rural Motel or Hotel, a straight old backpackers.
