Le Gumbo Combo re-imagine the driving big band New Orleans Rhythm & Blues of the 1950s, early Country Blues and Post-war Urban Blues as a down-home back-porch party. The quartet features four of the Top Of The South's top Blues and Jazz players. Jak Karaitiana on stand up bass (West Coast Blues Band, Nelson Jazz Big Band, The Barnstormers), Alan Burden on drums (Nelson Jazz Big Band), Paul Denny, harmonica (West Coast Blues Band) and Steve Mitchell on slide and fingerstyle guitar (solo performer, The Scintillators, The Barnstormers).
