Becca Caffyn
Join us at Toitū for an afternoon of laid-back music – March welcomes Becca Caffyn to the stage.
Originally hailing from Hamilton, Becca Caffyn has always had a deep intrigue for the world around her. Handpicked to join Parachute Music’s Artist Development Program in 2021, Caffyn spent a year in the studio honing her songwriting, working towards her debut collection of recordings.
Following the release of her first single ‘Stair Kids’, Caffyn relocated to Dunedin in July of 2022, before releasing her EP ‘The Replacement Blonde’ in September. Currently Caffyn is a student at the University of Otago, and volunteers at Dunedin’s student radio station Radio One.
A keen and observant writer, Caffyn delves into moments from everyday life; peering into the intricacies of how we relate to ourselves and others. Along the way, her influences have grown to include the indie-pop sensibilities of Phoebe Bridgers, Maggie Rogers and Julia Jacklin; melding a fascination with words, with introspective bedroom folk.
At 20 years old, Becca Caffyn writes with prescient clarity; crafting honest lyrics and gentle melodies that speak to her own experiences, all in the hope that they can resonate with the experiences of others too.
