In a change to our advertised programme Sunday, June 2nd sees a return to his hometown by Michael Taylor paying tribute to the great Satchmo and his tutor, also an acclaimed trumpet player - the late Warren Orr. In his show which will also feature in the upcoming Wellington Jazz Festival, "Mike Taylor plays Louis - a homage to Warren Orr," Mike with his trio of Ayrton Foote, Dan Yeabsley and John Rae acknowledges the influence and inspiration of Warren Taranaki Jazz Club's co-founder and first president.
Warren entered the former New Plymouth Boys High School student in The Malvina Major Music Award which Michael won. He then went onto New York to gain his Masters in Jazz and now back in Wellington tutors trumpet at The NZ School of Music.
Doors open 4pm for a 4.30pm start.
