Oh, DANNY BHOY – the hottest comedian on the international comedy scene is returning to New Zealand with a brand new show.

Scottish-born comedy star, Danny Bhoy, has had New Zealanders in hysterics in his previous sell-out shows. He sold out his debut season in Auckland in 2004 and his North Island Tour in 2005 where he set a new record for the most tickets sold in one day at the New Zealand Comedy Festival. Now, Danny Bhoy returns to headline the 2006 ODDFELLOWS NZ International Comedy Festival with a National Tour.

Danny Bhoy has become one of the biggest acts on the international comedy scene. After touring Australasia in 2005 Danny Bhoy hasn't stopped. For the third year in a row he was one of the top selling comedians at the 2005 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and performed at the prestigious ‘invitation-only’ comedy festivals in Las Vegas and Montreal alongside comedy greats Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock.

This year sees Danny embarking on his most extensive tour of New Zealand, as he performs 11 dates and tours the South Island for the first time.

With a growing reputation for some of the finest observational comedy around, and a natural gift for storytelling, Danny Bhoy’s meteoric rise shows no signs of waning.

“The crowd was eating out of his hand for the entire performance and he kept us spellbound for 2 hours” The Dominion Post.

“Dismissing all the hoopla surrounding this kid, the bottom line is it’s a comedian’s job to be funny. Believe me, Danny Bhoy is funny.” The Australian.

“Comparisons with the great masters of the art such as Jerry Seinfeld or Billy Connolly are inevitable, and certainly not unfavorable.” The Scotsman 2005.

“Scotland’s brightest hope since Billy Connolly” Sunday Times UK.
