Mikhail Svetlov is recognized as one of the greatest contemporary bass vocalists in the world. American-Russian singer is known to the NZ audience as the Mephistopheles in the 2006 Opera NZ Faust production. In addition to his fame as a singer, Mikhail Svetlov is an outstanding actor. His deep, velvety bass has graced many opera stages, including La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Paris Grand Opera, Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall.
In 2003, Mikhail Svetlov was nominated for a Grammy Award. He has performed under the batons of many great conductors including Yehudi Menuhin and Mstislav Rostropovich.

Mikhail Tablis’ sensitive and dramatic piano playing follows the traditions of his native Russian Piano School. Mikhail has performed as a soloist and an accompanist both in Europe and New Zealand.
