B.S.M. and Olmecha Supreme to bring a night of intergalactic afro-samba madness to San Fran Bathhouse in Wellington.

Last time Batucada Sound Machine came down to Wellington they headlined the Cuba St Carnival - and gave Wellingtonians a taste of their renound blend of funk, hiphop and afrostylings...with their trademark brazilian twist. Since then they have been real busy, touring in the UK and releasing their debut album 'Rhythm and Rhyme'.

This eagerly anticipated debut release from the monster 13-piece beast was lovingly crafted by UK producer Neil Sparkes (Transglobal Underground) and mixed at the legendary Avatar Studios in New York. One of Neil's goals was to capture the infectious energy and impulsiveness of BSM's live performance – which has garnered them a legion of dedicated fans around the world. Their UK tour last year saw them play WOMAD Rivermead and 12 nights at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival – and they are hangin out to get back down to Wellington.

BSM are teaming up with the cosmic space-funk supergroup Olmecha Supreme – headed by Captain Imon Star and featuring Cuban national Jinetero Emcee on vocals. The live act also features the brilliant Deva Mahal on voice and keys, and Myele Manzanza on drums (son of master african percussionist Sam Manzanza). They alternate between Rio Hemopo (Trinity Roots) and Crete Haami (Police Lucifer, Hollie Smith) on bass. It has been described as an "intense surreal sound scape complete with giant robots powered on pure spiritual energy in combat for the future of our planet and life as we know it throughout the galaxy.."

Don't miss a chance to check out these two wicked acts on the last Saturday before Xmas...
