Multi award-winning comedian and actor Ardal O'Hanlon is one of the most acclaimed artists in the comedy industry. He will be performing in Auckland in May as a special guest of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival.

Ardal O'Hanlon has an extensive list of both acting and comedy television credits to his name.

LIVE - A spellbinding fusion of off-beat stories and polished material combine to make Ardal's stand-up act a hilarious journey touched with life enhancing observations and unexpected twists. His sheer originality and talent ensure that there is no other performer quite like him. Ardal has toured extensively as a live performer having toured in US, Canada, Italy, Holland, Australia and New Zealand. In addition he has enjoyed three massive sell out tours of the UK and Ireland.

ACTING - Ardal has recently starred as presenter of Leagues Apart and the lead role in Ben Elton's BBC comedy series, Blessed. Other television appearances include Big Bad World, My Hero, and BBC1 series, The Stand Up Show. Movie roles include Another Bobby O'Hara Story, The Butcher Boy and the lead role in the award winning short film, Flying Saucer Rock n Roll.It was, however, his consummate starring role in three series of the BAFTA winning series Father Ted, which initially propelled Ardal in to public attention with his hilarious portrayal of Father Dougal McGuire. This role also won him the Top Television Comedy Newcomer in 1995 as well as nominations for Best Actor in 1996 and Top Television Personality and Best Actor in 1997, 1998 and 1999, along with Best Comedy Actor at the 1999 BAFTA Awards.

WRITING - As an innovative writer who has written for publications as diverse as The Independent and Total Sport Magazine, Ardal secured a major publishing deal in 1998. His first novel, The Talk Of The Town made it to the best seller lists for a full year. The book was renamed Knick Knack Paddy Wack for the US where it reprised the UK success.
