Lest We Forget

Auckland Museum was built as a memorial to the 12,000 people from the Auckland province who died in the first and second world wars. Each autumn the Museum remembers the great sacrifices made by these people, people who did their best for others — and for their children’s future.

Every year, Auckland War Memorial Museum, the RSA and Auckland City Council mark ANZAC day with a series of services and commemorative events. This year the Museum will again open immediately after the dawn service, enabling Aucklanders to further commemorate the day.

No donation will be asked for on this day.
