Listed by: Elephant Publicity productions has so many fresh faces at this years 2008 NZ International Comedy Festival that there is much competition to participate in the opening previews and galas.

After six sell out years (2002 to 2007), the traditional 5 Star Comedy Preview at SKYCITY Theatre will actually feature six international comedy stars providing a taste of things to come in the festival.

The line up for the 5 Star Comedy Preview –TWENTY 08 includes three comedians who will feature at The Classic in Auckland during the 3 week comedy festival.

They are Jason Cook, an English comedian who literally bought tears to the eyes of audiences with his moving and critically acclaimed solo show at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe.

Paul Tonkinson, an ‘A lister’ on the UK Pro circuit with a lengthy CV and numerous TV and radio credits.

Julia Morris, considered a Queen of the Australian comedy scene and now also firmly established in the UK where she spends much of her time.

They are joined in the 5 Star Comedy Preview by the three stars of The Big Show which opens at the Comedy Chamber on Mon 21 April.

Neil Delamere, an Irish comedian spotted by NZ ‘scouts’ at the 07 Edinburgh Fringe and tipped as one to watch by UK critics and audiences alike.

John Fothergill, another of the established stars of the competitive UK Pro circuit who is making his NZ debut in 2008.

Eddie Ifft, a much travelled comedian from the USA who has performed on 5 continents and shared the stage with such luminaries as Chris Rock, Robin Williams and

The 5 Star Comedy Preview is produced by productions, who also introduced the likes of Ed Byrne, Danny Bhoy, Andy Parsons, Rich Hall, Bill Bailey , Stephen K Amos, Phil Nichol and many more in previous festivals.
