The Packing Shed Gallery and Cafe is a fascinating part of West Auckland's history. Situated in the original packing shed of the beautiful Tara Orchards, moments from the awe-inspiring Waitakere Ranges, only 20 minutes from Auckland central, the Packing Shed is the perfect choice for an interesting and relaxing day out for the whole family. With live music from 11.00am to 2.00pm every Saturday and Sunday.

Allow Josephine Moore and her friendly staff to entertain your taste buds with a fine selection of traditional Kiwi fare in a relaxing atmosphere for both breakfast and lunch. Renowned for its suburb Devonshire Teas, ground coffee and delicious home-made local cuisine made from local suppliers wherever possible, the Packing Shed is the perfect centrepiece to the entire Tara Orchards location. So sit yourself down, relax and enjoy a freshly made muffin, a big 'westie' breakfast or a slice of one of the sumptuous home-made cakes!

Treat yourself to a wander around the beautiful gallery, take a stroll around the tranquil and relaxing grounds or the orchard, or simply recharge with one of our famous coffees.

Right next door to the Packing Shed Gallery and Cafe is the Eden Room Co-Op which is full of incredible gift ideas. The Eden Room has a regularly changing display of beautiful handmade quilts, teddy bears, jewellery and other crafts from local talent. This is a fantastic chance to look at and purchase some locally made products.

Next door to the Eden Room is Aro'a Soaps, which is the best place in Auckland to purchase beautiful hand made soaps, body butter and candles. Just behind the Packing Shed is Just Plane Interesting featuring a wide range of Antiques, Curios, Collectibles and just plain interesting things.
