"Lippizanas: Jazz of the Occult"

John Bell, Chris O'Connor, Paul Winstanley, and a mystery guest,

Vitamin s will launch its new programme for 2008 by having a festival of local and international artists for two weeks from the 14th to the 24th of February.

This will be an extremely ecclectic and adventurous two weeks of improvised music, sound, movement, and all other manners of performance.

The whole festival will be run from the wine cellar backroom, St Kevin's arcade, K Road, Auckland city.

This is a chance for anybody interested in improvisation to come down to the Wine Cellar and check out what goes on.

It is also a chance for members of the pool to collaborate with visiting artists and perform conceptual works over the festival period. There will also be FREE workshops hosted by a selection of experienced local and international performers. This is a great opportunity to engage with other practitioners in a relaxed but constructive and creative environment. The workshops also provide an insight into the process of improvisation that is used by these artists. The workshops are a mixture of playing, presentation, and discussion.

This format varies from host to host, but anybody interested in improvisation, either as a performer or as an audience/ appreciater, are more than welcome to attend.

Check out the festival program for more information, times, and dates.

So come down, bring your friends and immerse yourself to experiences and performances that are unlikely to be repeated.

Each performance will be five dollars, or, you can get a festival pass for $30 that will entitle you entry to all performances and workshops. These will be available from the door at the wine cellar on any performance.
