Author Carol Ramage (nee Meiklejohn) is the great granddaughter of Septimus Meiklejohn.

Carol will give you an insight into the research and writing of the book - ‘The Ships of Omaha - followed by a brief history of the shipbuilding families (Meiklejohns, David Darroch and Mathesons), how they were interconnected and the ships they built in the Omaha area of the Hauraki Gulf.

She will touch on the history of the first New Zealand scow, Lake Erie, which was built by the Meiklejohn Brothers and registered as built by Septimus Meiklejohn.

This is a must for Scow historians and boat building enthusiasts.
