Since forming in early 2006, the three women, two men Belfast Poets group have won international critical acclaim for their high-impact, heart-stopping, emotion-searing, multi-media performance poetry.

The Belfast Poets are: Phatbob, Aisling Doherty, Ellen Factor, Chelley McLear and Gordon Hewitt. Also known as 'Screaming Blue Murmur', they present "The Morning After the Summer of Love: 1968" to salute the 40th anniversary of that turbulent year of revolts, rebellion and alternatives.

Local singer/songwriter Roger Fowler, who has been involved in the protest movement since 1968, will also present a selection of punchy protest songs from that era.

Roger is the lead singer with the Frank E. Evans Band, which was formed in 1968 and belted out the rag-time rhythms for the 'Jumping Sundays' during the 'liberation of Albert Park' in 1969. The current band performs on the first Sunday of each month at the Dogs Bollix bar in Newton, and Roger's songs are still often heard on picket lines and protest rallies.
