Relax and Unwind, two or three day Retreat with Kim Knight, Universal Healing Tao Instructor, Director of Healing Grace Natural Therapies, Auckland.

Winter is a time to go within for rest and rejuvenation. The Taoist philosophy is one of following the natural rhythms of nature and of understanding how our body needs to be in tune with these laws in order for health and harmony to manifest. In our modern, fast-paced life it is easy to get caught up in constant ‘busyness’ and forget your ONE most important asset - YOU!

Take time out to treat yourself to two or three peaceful days of rest and rejuvenation at one of Auckland’s most beautiful retreat centres - (come for just Friday evening and the weekend or add on the Monday after too). The overall intention of this retreat is to go quietly and gently within for rest and rejuvination and to connect with the innate wisdom of our bodies. During this time we will practice gentle warm up exercises to improve the flow of Chi in the body, guided inner meditations for healing, and Chi Kung exercises to improve strength and suppleness.

There will be plenty of time for time out in the sauna and spa or for quiet walks in the native bush. We will also practice our Chi Kung outside in nature and take group walks nearby at Cascades Reserve. Plus of course three delicious vegetarian meals prepared for you every day.

During this retreat we will:

- Learn to recognize Stress and how to change the body’s internal response to it.
- Understand your own patterns of stress so that you can eliminate them from your life.
- Learn about the Five Elemental Laws of Nature and how these are mirrored in your body in the major organ systems.
- Learn about the five intelligences in the body in the different organ systems.
- Learn which positive and negative emotions are stored in which organs.
- Practice the Inner Smile and Six Healing Sounds Meditations to calm the mind, and balance / transform negative emotions stored in the organs.
- Taoist Chi Kung exercises to increase levels of energy and oxygen in the body, and improve structure
- Bone Breathing and Bone Dreaming Chi Kung To relax the muscles in the body deeply, help sleep and clear old energy from the bones.
- Sunning Chi Kung to balance the immune, endocrine and nervous systems, bringing them into a state of harmony.
- Selfcare Abdominal Massage (Chi Nei Tsang) to help keep the abdomen free of built up toxins and negative emotional charges.

About the Instructor:
Kim has been studying the practices of the Universal Healing Tao since 2000 after a transformative treatment for chronic fatigue. She has spent the last 20 years investigating ways of healing, and has a thorough understanding of why we get ill and how we can regain good health. She is passionate about sharing these techniques with others. You will come away feeling refreshed and revitalized, ready to face the world again.
