'The Lake' is the title of the debut solo album from acclaimed artist Anna Coddington. It is due for release on Tea Set Records, with distribution by Rhythmethod, on 3 June 2008.

Anna Coddington’s live band is of an unrivalled calibre. The credentials listed below are indicative of what these people are capable of when put together on a stage . . .

Ned Ngatae - Guitarist
As well as working with Anna on her album and tour, Ned also plays guitar for New Zealand’s own soul diva Hollie Smith and Auckland’s premiere funk/soul party band The Tornadoes. Ned has played guitar for a long list of legendary New Zealand acts including Dimmer, Trinity Roots, Sola Rosa, Che Fu, and more. Ned also works under the moniker ManRaro as a leading dj of hip hop, reggae, funk, soul, and whatever other goodness is in his bag.

Riki Gooch - Drummer
Anna and Riki met while recording Bic Runga’s third masterpiece “Birds”. Through that project Riki was snapped up by Neil Finn to keep time on the latest Crowded House album. Riki continues to play in Bic’s live band and has recently been recruited by Fat Freddy’s Drop for their 2008 European tour. He was a founding member of Trinity Roots and is due this year to release an album of original material under the name Eru Dangerspiel (on which Anna is a featured vocalist). Riki has also played for Solaa, Ladi 6, and others and, like Ned, works his way around the country’s bars and clubs spinning records.

Chip Matthews - Bass Player
Chip has also worked with a veritable who’s who of New Zealand music. As well as playing for Anna, he currently works with Anika Moa, The Opensouls, The Tornadoes, Eru Dangerspiel and several other projects. In the past he was a member of Che Fu’s band Tha Krates. Chip is also, of course, an excellent DJ.
