The 90 Mile Beach challenge run is an annual event consisting of a 63km Ultra-marathon, a 42km Marathon, a 21km 1/2 Marathon Run or Walk, a 6km Walk for Life and an open Relay ( 5 person) 63km run.

The Challenge is run completely on the beach from the Bluff where the Ultra & 5 person relay starts, on flat hard sand from the start to the finish at Ahipara Bay at the bottom of the 90 Mile beach.

Every 3kms there are waterstops & bananas provided & St Johns medical staff are continually patrolling the beach for anyone in difficulty.

Certain check points along the way are identified and all athletes must pass through these.

There are equal cash prizes for males & females in each event and all entrants receive a prize with major spot prizes in each category.

There is no other run in the world that is competed solely on a beach, so come and enjoy the hospitality of the Far North while competing in an exceptional event.
